Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Veil ("Veil", "we", "us") is a mock-interview practice tool: a private desktop overlay, a web dashboard, and an API that stores your background notes, practice answers, and AI context. If you have any questions about this policy, reach us via the Contact page.

2. Information we collect

• Account information — your name, username, and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.
• Your content — the scripts, cue cards, and AI context you create, plus any media files you upload.
• Session data — an authentication token that keeps you signed in.
• Support messages — anything you send us through the contact form.

We do not record your meetings, your microphone, your camera, or your screen. The overlay renders locally on your device.

3. How we use your information

• To provide the service — storing and syncing your scripts and context across your devices.
• To generate live AI answers. When you use AI assist, your question, your saved context, and your active script are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to produce a response. This content is used only to answer your request.
• To secure your account and prevent abuse.
• To respond to your support requests.

4. Where your data is stored

Text data (accounts, scripts, context) is stored in a managed database. Large media files are stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).

5. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the infrastructure and AI providers strictly necessary to run Veil (database hosting, object storage, and the AI model provider), and only to deliver the features you use.

6. Data retention & deletion

Your content is kept while your account is active. You can delete individual scripts and media at any time from the dashboard. If you would like your entire account and its data removed, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise these, use the Contact page.

8. Security

Passwords are hashed with PBKDF2. Access to your content requires your session token. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

9. Children

Veil is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
